Hi! I'm so glad you're here.
I'm Shelagh — an artist inspired by the place where science, nature, and art converge. Through my work, I explore the meeting point of observation and imagination, capturing everything from the shadowed mysteries of the sea to the inquisitive charm of a gull waiting for a dropped crumb.
With a background in natural sciences and fisheries, I love to weave Latin nomenclature and anatomical details of marine flora and fauna into my art. These elements reflect my enduring fascination with the intersection of science and creativity, and my profound respect for the living world.
My medium of choice is linocut printmaking — a lovingly laborious process where each design is carved, inked, and burnished individually, resulting in subtle variations that make each piece truly one of a kind.
This is slow art for intentional living!
